They forecasted less than a half inch of snow overnight. WRONG. We received closer to 4" in some spots in my immediate area. While discouraged that Jasper wouldn't be able to do much at all, the road to the quarry had been plowed sometime last night during the storm. So, only roughly 2+ inches remained for the truck to test these new MN tires.
The aggressive tread really makes a difference. The softer compound, despite the cold weather, is still softer than stock, so it makes a difference as well. The additional height of the tires really helps get the axles up out of the snow just a little bit more.
It's difficult to quantify the amount of traction increase compared to the other WPL and MN tires but my previous experience with the soft WPL tires for the C24 did really well but these are much better with a deeper, more aggressive tread pattern. They seem to dig right through the snow and be able to reach the ground underneath easily. That really helped a lot in some areas for traction.
Overall, I like these a lot. They're different, so what's not to like? They slight oversize helps a lot without being oversized like the previous MN tires. Which I like but not enough to run on this build. I already have 2 trucks with them on. It's time for another option! After my day out today, I can highly recommend them to anyone looking for another choice for their WPL trucks. - Mark's RC
