Hi and welcome to Part 3 of my build guide and tips for the Tamiya DT-02 Holiday Buggy. In this part, we focus on the bodywork and accessories and complete the fantastic iconic Holiday Buggy. I show how to paint and detail the driver and cockpit, the headlamps, roof and gas cans and apply the stickers (or decals) to the blue plastic body. I'm very pleased with the finished look!
I have made only a few little changes to the kit, mainly the addition of a 540 Torque Tuned motor and upgrading the friction shocks to Tamiya CVA oil damped shocks. I hope you enjoy the video and pick up a little tip or two along the way. Happy building!
About the DT-02 Chassis:
The bathtub type frame chassis features a longitudinal battery layout for lower center of gravity and optimum weight distribution. 4-wheel double wishbone suspension is equipped with coil spring damped units to provide superb off-road traction. A sealed gearbox protects against sand and debris and is equipped with differential gears to efficiently transmit the power from the type 380 motor. By installing separately available Type 540 motor and corresponding pinion gear, more powerful driving can be enjoyed.
