As you may know, we recently took the Tamiya XV01 and XV02 for a race-off on a little rally course that we set up. That day we also took along my new Tamiya TD4 Super Avante buggy. Just for giggles, we thought it would be fun to see how the performance of the buggy compared to the rally cars! Because the TD4 and XV-02 Pro are the latest chassis from Tamiya (and about the same price) we decided to compare these two.
I know it may seem more unfair because the TD4 has a 17.5T brushed motor and the XV02 is running a stock Marbuchi motor. However, on the small track the TD4 was a real handful and the XV02 was struggling with grip-roll even with the slower motor. Anyway, as I said, it's just a bit of fun but interesting all the same!
The top speed of the XV02 here is 18mph and the TD4 is 22mph.
Many thanks as always to the awesomeness that is @robbrennanrc for the help with the making of this video and importantly, for sharing this great hobby with me.
