The FFR SC1 micro RC chassis has been a significant focus these past few weeks. After a lot of time spent testing and tweaking certain design elements along with collecting feedback, V1 is nearly ready for release. One key part of this chassis design is the ability to easily mount modular front suspension and steering assemblies to it. The current assembly design we’ve been calling the S01-EP has proved to be a solid, compact option, though certainly not without it’s shortcomings as I talk about in this video.

I recently have been working on a completely new design with the intentions of making it simpler and contain more FDM printable parts. The biggest difference though is it utilizes a double a-arm design as has been requested. I thought the design of this new suspension would make for a good little series of speed modeling videos especially since I’ve received a number of requests to showcase the design of mechanical components such as suspensions and steering.

In this video I focus on the suspension getting the suspension components modeled.
