In August, Japan’s SkyDrive Inc., which is among the myriads of "flying car” projects around the world, carried out a successful though modest test flight with one person aboard. Unlike airplanes and helicopters, electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicles offer the promise of quick point-to-point personal travel.
