After Indonesia and Egypt canceled their acquisition of the Russian-made Su-35 fighter jet, now it is Iran's turn to take similar steps. The highly anticipated 4.5 generation fighter jet is in danger of never arriving after the latest report said Tehran canceled plans to purchase 24 Su-35 Flanker-Es that had been agreed in January 2023.

Iran has also expressed interest in acquiring other advanced military technologies from its partners in crime such as the S-400 air defense system, a mobile surface-to-air missile system. Iran has supplied Russia with hundreds of kamikaze drones that have been used to target Ukraine's military and civilian infrastructure.
