Built more like a cellphone than a regular HD recording camera, the Runcam 3 is not really "user serviceable" so don't expect to be able to easily change the battery or take a look around inside.
Things of note in this teardown:
- a separate stereo codec chip when I'd have expected that functionality to be built into the main processor
- masses of RF shielding, which explains the excellent RF performance
- generally good PCB construction
It looks as if this camera should be reasonably robust and will probably take the knocks and bruises associated with use on RC models.
I will post another video if/when I get further into this camera and hopefully showing the fix for my currently bricked unit.
Disclosure: this camera was provided for review purposes by Runcam
