My very first kit rc car was a Tamiya TT02 that I quickly converted to Rally Spec and started this channel! The same car lives on and I felt the need to run a battery through it since it spends most of its life on a shelf looking pretty. This Tamiya TT02 rc rally car is something special and seems to put a smile on everyone’s face, and definitely a must for any collector in my mind. In this video I change out the serve for something a little more modern along with adding a better gyro that will help control some of the drifts that I put this car through.
I thought I blew the motor but these tamiya brushed motors are pretty resilient and it ended up just being a small rock that got jammed in the magnet that I was able to get out and now it works fine again!
Hope you guys enjoyed that, this car is a blast to drive and that new servo gyro combo really woke this thing up in terms of response and steering feel. Hopefully the video was able to show that.
The shocks were definitely a bit stiff as I’m sure you could see in the video, it was bouncing around quite a bit on that rough asphalt but I think that’s what helped it slide around so well. I was able to flick it around pretty easily so I’m curious if a softer shock will be beneficial or not and that’s something I’ll have to try in the future.
Let me know down in the comments if you guys also started your RC journey with a TT02, do you drift you tt02? Do you rally your tt02? Be sure to let me know down below and hit that thumbs up if you like what you see and be sure to subscribe for more awesome rc content from Shredcraft! Thanks for watching!
