Just two decades ago, RC helicopters were almost unattainable due to their high cost and almost unflyable due to their inherent instability. But that all changed about 15 years ago.

The E-flite Blade CX was introduced in late 2005 as an easier-to-fly alternative to E-flite's Blade CP, also introduced in 2005. The CX is an entry level, ready-to-fly electric micro RC helicopter designed and distributed by E-flite, a division of Horizon Hobby of Champaign, Illinois, USA:

The Picoo Z, a tiny 10-gram 2-channel electric helicopter from Silverlit Toys, was released in the summer of 2006, and was an instant hit. This little heli was also sold under the brand name of Air Hogs Havoc Heli in North America:

My RC helicopter adventure started with the Air Hogs Reflex 3-channel helicopter back in 2007, which also sparked and fueled the whole electric RC aircraft obsession with me. This little electric RC heli was a present from my younger cousin Asena (whom I refer to as my little brother), so you can say that he is the cause of all this craziness today! I had so much fun with this little heli that I ended up getting a used E-flite Blade CX2 later, and the rest is history...

If you have been following our channel, you may already know that we recently completed a 10-day RC mini drone challenge. It was great fun but also very exhausting (since I have a family to support and a demanding full-time job). Well, I must be a masochist, because here we are with a bigger challenge!

On July 10th, 2021, I started a 14-day review challenge: to review one new beginner-friendly RC helicopter each day. These helicopters range from 2-channel to 6-channel models, from less than $10 to over $50 (but never more than $100).

If you like RC drones and have not tried flying RC helicopters yet, or if you are new to the RC flying hobby and would like to try out RC helicopters on a really low budget, you are in the right place! Here are the links to the previous videos in this review challenge:

On this sixth day of our challenge, I am switching gears and reviewing something very different from the first five. It is a 2-channel RC helicopter! I purchased this heli on eBay new for $12 plus tax with free shipping ($12.75 total). It has a very simple infrared (IR) controller. As of the making of this video, you can find it on Five Below for only $5, which blows my mind! I ended up ordering two more just for fun and for having two other color versions:

Thank you very much for watching. If you found this video entertaining or useful, please give it a thumbs-up. If you are not already a subscriber to Props & Wheels, please consider subscribing, so you do not miss new content we are adding frequently. We hope you are part of this amazing hobby, or at least considering to join, because it is so much fun and rewarding.

Stay safe and healthy! Cheers!
