In this video I talk a little about my earliest experiences building and trying to fly RC planes. The first RC plane that I built from a kit was a Sterling Models Piper Tri Pacer 1/2A size plane. The build came out nice, but I had no experience flying rc planes at the time when I was in 8th grade. As a kid I built plastic models, then stick and tissue balsa kits that were free flight rubber band powered, then I moved on to RC planes. Through a lot of trial and error my friends and I finally learned how to fly rc planes.
I was able to fine the original Sterling Models RC Piper Tri Pacer on ebay. I like to look for vintage rc plane kits on ebay and this time I was lucky to fine this kit. I also talk a little bit about finding plans for vintage rc plane kits online that can be downloaded and build with a little effort. My favorite rc plane plan download site is Outerzone from the UK:
https://outerzone.co.uk
This is a great site for old rc plane kit plans and information.
I have been building, flying, crashing, modifying, and repairing radio control planes (RC Planes) for many years and enjoy sharing what I do with the radio control plane community, so I started RC Plane Tech channel for fun. I am not an expert, there are many different techniques to building radio control planes. A good way to learn about flying and building rc planes is to see what others are doing, that's what I do and that's why I like to share what I do. Thanks for watching my channel. Have fun!
