Meet the Pilot who shot down First Pakistani F-86 Sabre Jet during 1971 India-Pakistan War | Air Marshal Harish Masand VrC VM (Retd)

Hi Good Morning friends,

A lot of people join the Indian Air Force as they are highly passionate about their dream to fly. However, the air force is not just about flying but more importantly about fighting.

When we talk about fighting or aerial combat, it demands something very special as we are talking about fighting in three dimension or in an open sky which has its own threat of anti-aircraft guns or surface to air missiles.

During such an act of bravery, it is just the will and sheer determination which can safe guard our nation’s boundaries.

So today, we will rewind the history and see how a young Flying Officer shot down the first Pakistani Sabre jet during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971.

Yes, I am talking about Air Marshal Harish Masand, a decorated War Hero of the 1971 conflict who is also the most celebrated MiG-29 pilot of the Indian Air Force.

If you wish to share an inspirational true story filled with act of bravery or wish to recreate any war scene in the form of paintings, please do contact.

Jai Hind !
