Newark Radio Controlled Car Club - C final 27/09/2024

Practice was awesome. The car was spot on. Couldn't ask for anything more from it.

Round 1 it was loose on the rear into corners. Turn in was ok if it didn't kick out, but it was inconsistent and difficult to get into a rhythm.

Round 2 I raised the rear roll centre by 0.5mm. The theory being it should give more initial grip on the rear and stop it kicking out. As you change 1 end of the car there's an impact on the other, just reduced. As expected the front lost a small bit of turn in as expected, but the rear was just the same as before.

Round 3 I decided to try widening the track width with the hexes. This just amplified the issue with the rear making it completely underivable.

For the final I removed the wider hexes and decided to lower the front roll centre to try and calm the initial steering down. This seemed to be going in the right direction from the warmup laps, but shortly into the race it started loosing the rear again.
