Spring has finally arrived! Maiden test run with my brand new 1990's classic Tamiya Stadium Thunder 1/10 2WD Stadium Truck 2012 re-release. All good, but I might need to make some adjustments before taking it to the tarmac or dirt or jumps ...

Ohh, well, this was a really spontaneous maiden run as I suddenly found some time for it. The only batteries I had charged (with T-plugs or EC5 connectors) were two old NiMH batteries I thought were okay. Seems they where either too small for the brushless system, or they where simply too old and couldn't keep the voltage up.
I did have an almost freshly charged 2S LiPo from a previous speed test earlier this day, but of course these larger modern batteries can't be fixed with the stock battery mount system. I really do not recommend this. Especially when running in grass, driving with one-hand, which made it almost impossible not too flip it a few times.
This unit is non-box-art but apart from some extra ball bearings, a GoolRC TG-3 R/C (transmitter/receiver), Arrma standard servo and the generic 3900 kv Brushless System it is all stock.
Before taking it for some real runs on tarmac and dirt, or doing some small jumps with it, I still need to do a little work like the steering adjustment mod and assembling some on road wheel and tire sets I got ready for it. Could be wonderful to be able to use my larger 2S batteries for this one too, but I might need to make up a new way to secure the batteries then. Anybody got an idea that doesn't involve any modifications to the chassis?
With this motor though, if I want to save the back end of the body, I might also need a protection plate or perhaps even a wheelie bar at the rear. Not sure how I can do that ... so again, if anybody got some tips for an easy mod I would appreciate it ...
