The "Flying Clipper," a five-masted, fully rigged ship, manned by a young Swedish crew, sets off to tour the Mediterranean. The ship and the sailors visit Portugal, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, Greece, Italy, southern France, Monaco (during the Grand Prix), Spain, and many other beautiful places.
Imdb: "The 1964 US version, released as "Mediterranean Holiday" in Wonderama, features additional material not contained in the original release." Well, this is that version.
Visited/presented cities, places, landscapes described in more detail:
Portugal: Nazaré, Leiria, Lisbon
Montenegro, at that time Yugoslavia: Kotor
Croatia, at that time Yugoslavia: Dubrovnik
Egypt: Port-Said, Suez, Abu Simbel, Valley of the King, Cairo, and the pyramids
Lebanon: Beirut, The Damascus Road
Turkey: Alanya, Antalya, Göreme, Istanbul
Greece: the Greek archipelago (Mykonos, Kalymnos, Rhodes), Piraeus, Acropolis of Athens, Delphi, Meteora. And also the presentation of an aircraft carrier, the Shangri-La, under the Greek section (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Shangri-La)
Italy: Naples, Isle of Capri
France: the French Riviera (Côte d'Azur)
Monaco: the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix
Spain: Barcelona, Alhambra (Granada), Seville
The uploader's personal opinion on the documentary: an invaluable value age document about the world of the 60s (or at least part of it), also due to its detail and image quality/resolution.
As a negative, I could mention the often noticeably dark picture (but I think the cameras at the time didn’t treat the lights as good as they do today), furthermore, the aircraft carrier is intended to have perhaps too much airtime (but this is perhaps precisely because it is the American, expanded version).
And one more important note!!! The subtitles with the exception of the English subtitle (because it's a subrip) were all created using the google translator, so I take no responsibility for their translation quality!
In any case, I think they are worth more than nothing. I e.g. being Hungarian, I watched it with the Hungarian subtitle translated by google, and I feel that it was still able to provide quite a lot of extra info in addition to what I saw.
