www.rccartips.com - Highlights of my daughter's races in the 2011 Manila Touring RC Car Championship MTCC held in JP Raceway on Dec 10 - 11. We both joined and had our own personal battle to see who is better, the father or the daughter. In qualifiers, the father (me) won. I qualified 17th (7th in the B-main grid) and Porsha 26th (6th in the C-main grid). It was a small but tough field, lots of fast drivers. Difference between the fastest and the slowest racers was only 1 to 1.5 secs per lap. My daughter managed a 14.8s fastest lap while mine was 14.3s. I think the champion, Mr. JP Reyes, did a 13.7? It was her first time to race the 1/10 Sakura Zero rc touring car and her third time to race in the 13.5 touring car class. Forme, first time to race a Tamiya 416WE that I bought second hand a few days before the race. Considering these cars go 40+mph down the straight, it's not so easy to race these cars. But it is fun and very exciting. So who won between father and daughter? Honestly I felt my daughter beat me. I finished last in the B-main with 18 to 19 laps in the triple mains. Porsha fought from 6th on the grid to finish 2nd overall in the C-main with 20 lappers. She was driving faster than me in the races. It was a fun 2 day race weekend. Now for the next big race, the 2011 Futaba Cup this coming Saturday. Time to have more fun.
