How hard can it be jumpin' the HBX 18858 Hailstorm on a tiny little backyard ramp? Hard enough, at least for me ... still a lot of fun, testing my new GoPro Hero 8 Black with a head mount for the first time.
The HBX 18858 Hailstorm 4x4 1/18 Truggy/Monster Truck was kindly provided by Haiboxing, free for review and tests. You can buy it or/and check out the price and all the technical details, and specifications here on Amazon with this (non-affiliate!) link:

Apart from the rear shocks getting stuck all the time, due to grass/dirt getting inside them, the Hailstorm managed to survive all my landings without any breakage. Brave little fellow. Usually I break all my stuff when trying to land on the uneven lawn. I must say, I really enjoy running this little truck. With some real oil-filled shocks this one would be a super runner.
It seems the combination of trying to control a GoPro with a head mount, using a tiny ramp and landing a 1/18th scale RC car with non-oil-filled-shocks (springs/pogo sticks) on the bouncy grass at the same time wasn' really my thing. When reviewing the footage it's easy to see though, that I might have had better luck easing off the throttle/breaking in the air, as most of the landings are quite tail heavy. But in the moment I think I was more occupied with the new GoPro and giving full throttle than analyzing my landings or worrying about them. Ohh, well, enough excuses. My air control needs a bit of work.
