Jaguar XJR-12 Group C Sports Prototype - Sublime TWR V12 N/A Engine Sound at Spa Francorchamps

I enjoyed seeing this Jaguar XJR-12 Group C in action, the extraordinary sports-prototype built-in 1990 to participate at the 24h of Le Mans, chassis number J12-C-190. We are at the Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, and the pilot behind the wheel is the Englishman, Shaun Lynn. After competing in Europe and the United States, the Jaguar spent time inside Tom Walkinshaw's TWR collection. It was subsequently sold and underwent several changes of hands until reaching an important French collection that makes it still competing in the championship reserved for Group C cars and organized by Peter Auto. The engine is a 7-litre naturally aspirated 60° V12 located in the rear-centre position capable of developing 730hp (545 kW) at 7,000 rpm and 785Nm (579 ft-lbs) at 5,500 rpm. The gearbox is a 5-speed manual produced by March/TWR. With a carbon-fibre monocoque frame and composite and carbon-fibre bodywork, the car's overall weight is around 900Kg (1,984 lbs) with a top speed close to 370 Km/h (230mph). Ho avuto il piacere di vedere in azione questa Jaguar XJR-12 Group C, la straordinaria sport prototipo costruita nel 1990 per partecipare alla 24h di Le Mans, numero di telaio J12-C-190. Ci troviamo sul circuito di Spa Francorchamps, in Belgio ed il pilota al volante è l'inglese Shaun Lynn. Dopo aver gareggiato in Europa e negli Stati Uniti questa Jaguar ha trascorso un po' di tempo all'interno della collezione TWR di Tom Walkinshaw, poi è successivamente stata venduta ed ha subito diversi passaggi di mano fino a giungere ad un'importante collezione francese che la fa gareggiare tutt'ora nel campionato riservato alle vetture Gruppo C ed organizzato da Peter Auto. Il motore è un V12 a 60° aspirato da 7-litri collocato in posizione centrale-posteriore capace di sviluppare 730hp (545 kW) a 7,000 giri/min e 785Nm (579 ft lbs) a 5,500 giri/min. Il cambio è un manuale a 5 rapporti prodotto ma March/TWR. Con un telaio monoscocca in fibra di carbonio e carrozzeria in materiale composito e fibra di carbonio, il peso complessivo dell'auto si aggira sui 900Kg (1,984 lbs) con una velocità massima prossima ai 370 Km/h (230mph).
