RC plane + lots of wind = fun!
RC fliers from the local club have hardly been seen at the airfield this spring, put off by the strong winds we've been having.
Well you know me -- even if I have to drive an hour and find a waste-land in which to do it, I'll happily fly in any strength of wind so when a really powerful storm ripped up the country this week, I figured it was time to get the AXN out and give it a little air-time!
Sorry about the hatcam footage -- nobody available to hold the camera for me (can't fit Mrs XJet *and* the AXN in the truck at the same time) and, even though there hasn't been a full-sized plane near the airfield in days (due to the weather), I had to drive quite a while to find a place where I could fly without breaking the law (because I'm no longer "proficient" enough to hold MFNZ "wings").
It was very windy, very turbulent and I was flying over jagged tree stumps with only a small area in which to land -- whilst dodging big trucks passing on the road I was parked beside. That is indeed a great recipe for fun!
And I didn't even break the plane!
And, for the record, "Hatcam" is a Foxtech Horyzon HD version 1 camera recording in 1080p onto a 2MB Class 4 microSD card.
