Foam Bug RC Plane Part 1 - Prototype and Test Flight
Follow along as I discuss design and built techniques for the Foam Bug RC model airplane. Using 3/16" foam board and hot glue, I build a 40 inch wing model with a profile fuselage.
An E-flite Park 370 electric motor with a 2 cell lipo battery provides the power. Control is provided with full span ailerons, elevator and rudder. Fuselage length is 30 inches.
Use of drywall reinforcement tape and packing tape are covered, as well as popsicle sticks for dihedral bracing and control rod braces.
The Foam Bug flies like a dream. Smooth control inputs and quiet flight at half throttle.
Future videos will cover a TurboCAD lesson in drawing the Foam Bug plans as well as a follow on variant.
