It's that time of year again! It's time to blast some more material from the face of the mine site for future excavation. We only blast the mine one day per year. This year a car drove past the barricades, & into the mine site. It stopped on top of the explosives when it stalled out. After the driver got safely out, the authorities refused to go near the car to recover it. Since the mine had already been rigged to go live, the only logical thing to do was to blow the car up along with the mine.

Here's wishing everyone a healthy, happy, & SAFE 4th of July. Hopefully you're able to spend independence with family, & friends. Enjoy the time you have with your loved ones. You never know when it will come to an abrupt end.
