EASY TO FLY radio controlled RC Eurocopter EC135 Helicopter
AVAILABLE HERE: https://shop.makerfire.com/products/yuxiang-f06-ec135-flybarless-eurocopter-6-axis-simulation-rc-helicopter?variant=44043464048884&aff=526
This helicopter is controlled more like a drone than a traditional collective pitch RC helicopter. It makes it much easier and less challenging to fly. Left stick for up and down, yaw/spin left and right. Right stick for move sideways left/right and forwards/backwards.
Two flight modes. The default Optical Flow mode enables the EC135 to lock to a spot over the ground and maintain altitude when it is less than 8 metres high. It will even resist a mild breeze and maintain its position. In normal mode the height lock relies on barometric pressure so is not so accurate.
Everything is included in the box except the 4 AAA batteries for the radio transmitter. The smart batteries charge up in about 30 minutes using the provided USB C lead. No assembly required and no stickers to apply. It is ready to fly out of the box.
Put the battery in the helicopter ensuring the clips engage. Then switch on the transmitter. Hold down the button on the battery to switch it on. Put the helicopter on a flat surface in some space ready for take off. Click the unlock button, then put the sticks to the out and down. The motor will start spinning. Then use left stick up to take off !
To land descend using down on left stick, and when very low hold that stick down to land and it will switch off motor automatically.
If you want to have the fun of flying an RC helicopter without the steep learning curve and challenge of learning collective pitch helicopter flying then this could be for you. It's quite clever how it is controlled more like a drone than a traditional RC helicopter...and it will fly on each battery for about 20 minutes !
Filmed by Dom Mitchell for the Essential RC YouTube channel using the Panasonic HC-X2 Pro 4K camcorder.
