The Tokoroa Airfield was closed for the big annual jet-powered RC plane event in February 2020. There were white crosses out and NOTAMs were issued advising of "high performance RC planes operating to 1000ft AGL" but it's clear that few pilots understand the importance of reading their NOTAMs and even fewer know what white crosses mean at the end of a runway.

And they say drones/RC-plane operators need more regulation?
