The hike was a lot harder than it needed to be, a result of being out of shape. But the summit was amazing even with my non standard route finding ability, or lack there of. The Ptarmigans were fun to see. The mouse that got into my tent and ate my peanut butter was less fun.
The Lake Como road is open to 8800 feet this time of year, beyond that the snow would prevent progress.
