This is an RC model airplane, recreating the Boeing B-29 Superfortress dropping the X1 rocket that Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier with in 1947. Many man hours of labor were involved in building the 12 foot wing span model that has evolved and been flown every year at the GCRCC Flying Circus. The Flying Circus is presented by The Greater Cincinnati Radio Control Club, located in Trenton Ohio. This was a test flight at our club field, testing the new X1 rocket that was built to replace a smaller version that was used in years past. The GCRCC has been presenting the The Flying Circus since the early days of RC model aviation starting in 1961. The club members plan all year round to have the Model Air Show every 2nd weekend in August to introduce to the community, all aspects of model aviation. In 2010 we will be celebrating our 50th anniversay show, August 7th and 8th at the Butler County Regional Airport in Hamilton Ohio.
