Ayrton Senna Hommage, Lotus 98T, Williams FW16, McLaren MP4/8 F1 Cars - Patrese & Martini【ENG SUB】

As we know, that damned May 1, 1994, Ayrton Senna died after a tragic accident on the Imola circuit. I want to pay homage to the Brazilian champion with material never uploaded previously. An exhibition created in collaboration with the sports photographer Ercole Colombo and the journalist Giorgio Terruzzi took place in April 2017 at the Lamborghini Museum. On that occasion, dozens of beautiful images and memorabilia of Senna as his helmets were exhibited together with his single-seaters. From the first Parilla Go-Kart through the Formula Ford, Formula 3, the 1984 Toleman TG184, the 1986 Lotus JPS 98T, the 1993 McLaren MP4/8 and the 1994 Williams FW16. The McLaren MP4/8B powered by the Lamborghini V12 engine is also on display for the first time. In September 1993, driven by Ayrton, the car made some secret test at Estoril circuit, Portugal. Finished to test it, Senna was extremely satisfied, the engine, very powerful, allowed him to achieve excellent times. He, therefore, asked to be able to install the V12 on the single-seater of the 1994 season, which unfortunately didn't happen in McLaren. As we know, the next year the Brazilian pilot decided to race for Williams. On the exhibition opening day, the Italians Riccardo Patrese and Pierluigi Martini were present. They were not only Ayrton's opponents on race tracks but real friends out of the competitions. I asked them a memory about Senna.

Come sappiamo, quel maledetto 1° Maggio del 1994 Ayrton Senna morì dopo un tragico incidente sul circuito di Imola. Voglio rendere omaggio al campione Brasiliano con del materiale mai caricato precedentemente. Nell'Aprile 2017 al Museo Lamborghini venne inaugurate una mostra realizzata in collaboration con il fotografo sportivo Ercole Colombo ed il giornalista Giorgio Terruzzi. In quell'occasione decine di splendide immagini e memorabilia di Senna come i suoi caschi vennero esposti insieme alle monoposto della sua carriera agonistica. Dal primo Go-Kart Parilla passando per le Formula Ford, Formula 3, la Toleman TG184 (1984), la Lotus JPS 98T (1986), la McLaren MP4/8 (1993) e la Williams FW16 (1994). Per la prima volta viene esposta anche la McLaren MP4/8B motorizzata con il V12 Lamborghini. Nel Settembre 1993, guidata da Ayrton, la monoposto fece alcuni test segreti sul circuito dell'Estoril, in Portogallo. Finito di provarla Senna rimase estremamente soddisfatto, il propulsore, molto potente gli permise di realizzare ottimi tempi. Chiese quindi di poterlo installare sulla monoposto della stagione 1994, cosa che purtroppo in McLaren non avvenne. Come sappiamo l'anno successico il pilota Brasiliano decise di correre per la Williams. Il giorno dell'inaugurazione alla mostra erano presenti i piloti italiani Riccardo Patrese e Pierluigi Martini. Non furono solo avversari di Ayrton sulle piste di gara ma veri amici fuori dalle competizioni. A loro ho chiesto un ricordo sul compianto campione del mondo.
