A Tamiya enthusiast's first Arrma ... Late to the party, I know, but here's my own little version of a quick unboxing and first look at the Arrma Typhon 6S BLX V4, the 1/8th Scale 6S capable Brushless 'Basher Buggy' or 'Speed Buggy' Version 4 ... with plenty of room to make up your own mind about it. What do you think? More info below.

This short unboxing was shot during the summer of 2019, when the release of the Arrma Typhon 6S BLX V4 was still relatively new. It's the last RC footage from 2019, that I still had left un-edited ... for many reasons.
At the time of the purchase, there was already a lot of unboxing videos of this model up on youtube. And since this footage was originally intended for a quick introduction (in a much more compressed version than here) followed by a run video, which I haven't made yet, it was left un-edited. The Arrma itself is also still sitting idle on my shelf, but honestly, I do not mind. I'm in no hurry and I love looking at it, taking it down from time to time to inspect it. It really is a beast of a buggy visually, compared to my many other 1/10 Buggies.
At first the whole thing simple got delayed because of the batteries required. The 4S (2x2S) battery set up intended for this model was provided by Awanfi, and pre-tested here in a couple of other cars: https://youtu.be/cvXUAI25Yo8
But I am still waiting for a couple of suitable 3S batteries or a single 6S battery. The 3S batteries I have are way to small in terms of the c-rating and minimum mAh specified by Arrma. Ovonic did provide a set up of very large 2x3S batteries, but unfortunately they where much too large, in physical size, and didn't fit: https://youtu.be/A9k-lXLfs-I
As I really have no desire to start modifying the Typhon battery compartment for the first run, a couple of other battery companies stepped in and promised to provide a 6S set-up, but none of them ever arrived. By that time summer was over, and I was hiding from the rain and storms and deeply engulfed in the season's first build and a lot of other RC car projects ... So this one got left in the shadows on the shelf ... but I hope to bring it out soon in the sun! Maybe I'll just have to run it on 4S and wait a little while with the 6S? Stay tuned for more videos!
