Glorious!
It has been a long road, but my final set of tuning and adjustments, and a perfect calm evening at the cricket pitch resulted in the flight I have been hoping for with this beautiful little plane.
What I changed since the last flight:
* More tuning of the transmitter rates and expos - I show this in the video.
* Moved the rudder control rod to the inner pin at the rudder end
* made the slot larger where the control rod exits the fuselage.
- Thanks Richard for the suggestion!
* strengthened the undercarriage with carbon fiber rods
- I got tired of fixing the undercarriage every time I landed in the grass
* added more weight at the front to move the centre of gravity forward
- The CoG is probably closer to10mm behind the leading edge and still maybe a bit tail heavy
* was more confident about giving it some throttle
* Oh - and I put on a brand new propeller. The old one was getting a bit ratty,
The plane now weights 65g which is 15g more than recommended. See for yourself how this works out :-)
