This very short build proved to be
difficult in the aspect of the handling and lack of grip from the rear mounted drift tires.

To start, this little car is toooooo light for 2wd on drift tires. This made the car very unpredictable, in not only cornering but trying to obtain straight line speed. At the slightest of throttle input the rear would simply kick out even with the much heavier 18650 batteries.

After successfully removing the last toy car tire/wheel that had decent soft rubber.
I gave it another test drive with much better results in the cars predictability department.
But...because of the sticky tires this car is more inline with a road car depending on the surface it's on.

The car is now also much slower with it's much smaller tires. With that in mind a motor mounted directly to the ring gear through the shaft would make this much much better.

Hand made 8mm long half shafts.
Hand laid 3/16" thick chassis.
Ball bearing construction throughout.
Metal gears and 180 brushed motor.
Proportional throttle and steering.

Due to the 4wd drive train being so large there was no room for suspension.

Future plans.
I have a couple of 1/32 scale slot cars coming that I am going to try to add suspension to one of them and turn to rc.
